VICTORIAN ART NOUVEAU 1890 AMETHYST GOLD BIRD BROOCH

The ART NOUVEAU Period was a very brief time dating around 1890. Jewelry and Art reflected a turn toward natural lines and motifs involving flora and fauna as well and mythological fairies and angels. Relatively few pieces were originally made and most have been carefully packed away on personal collections. Offered for your consideration is this Incredible Antique Victorian - Art Nouveau Period, circa 1890’s, Amazing Amethysts & 14K Rose, Yellow, and Green Gold Brooch with Bird and Flower/Leaf motif. I think the pictures speak for themselves as to how special this piece is. Done is a circular motif, the brooch holds Five faceted Amethysts interspersed with Green Gold Flower or Leaf designs. The brooch also cradles a sweet Bird done in Rose Gold. I believe the backing to be yellow Gold, it may be Rose as well. The piece is all original, including the early "C" style clasp. The entire piece measures approximately 5/8 inch in diameter and is in lovely condition.
