ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN, circa 1890 - 1900 AMETHYST FILIGREE GOLD NECKLACE BROOCH. This exquisite piece can be worn as both a glorious pendant or a beautifully detailed brooch. The center of this original Period Victorian piece holds a beautiful genuine Amethyst gemstone measuring about 12 x 15mm oval. I know the workmanship of this piece does not show enough in the photos and I wish that you could hold the piece in your hands and examine the detail, time, and skill that went into making this piece. The Amethyst is a deep antique cut stone, adding to the beauty, depth, and life of the gem. It is beautifully bezel set and cradled by a band of Gold in the back…detailing you just do not see today. The exterior bezel is fine filigree work, all hand made circa 1900. There is even a bit of hand etching around the very outer edge. The piece is all original with its folding mechanical bail at the top that folds down when you want to wear it as a brooch. The Gold is solid 10K Yellow Gold with a very rich hue, almost Rose Gold in color which was widely used during the Period. The piece is substantial for a Victorian Era piece measuring about 1 7/16 inches long with bail by about 1 inch wide and is on beautiful estate condition. A gorgeous antique find sure to please for many years and be passed down in your family for generations.
