An exceptionally beautiful Antique Cameo Necklace - Brooch from the Art Deco Period circa 1920. The setting is Sterling Silver with a Rhodium finish giving it the look of fine Platinum. It has beautiful filigree openwork and applied floral detailing. The carving is exquisite with fine hand carving from one piece of shell in white with a lovely tan background. The cameo depicts a lovely young woman with bobbed hair, a beaded headdress and a bouquet of flowers complete with dragonfly, all characteristic of the Art Deco Period. The piece is fitted with a pin back as well as a folding bail to be worn as a pendant necklace. Beautiful period cameos such as this are much more rare than the traditional profile commonly found. The entire piece measures about 1 5/8 inch long by about 1 3/8 inch wide and is in lovely estate condition.
