A lovely Antique Cameo Pin, dating circa 1830 Georgian - early Victorian Jewelry Period with Sculptural Relief Carving in Lava set in Gold. The cameo was skillfully carved from Basalt Lava in the depiction of a Greek Goddess complete with flowing hair, headress, and dreamy expression. Please notice the high relief of this carving, making this piece an exceptional find. The Cameo is beautifully set in solid 14K Gold with what appears to be a Victorian Rose hue. It closes securely with a safety clasp (dating later than the actual carving) so you will be able to wear this piece without worry. The entire piece measures approximately 13/16 inch long by about 9/16 inch wide and is in beautiful overall condition. A rare find and a wonderful addition to anyone's antique jewelry colection.
