Antique Diamond Brooch Platinum Vintage Art Nouveau Pin

A Stunning Antique Diamond Brooch in Platinum Topped 14K Gold, Vintage Art Nouveau Pin, circa 1890. This is an exceptional piece dating from the late 19th Century, late Victorian - Art Nouveau Period. The piece holds a combination of early Antique Mine Cut Diamonds and Rose Cut Diamonds for a total of fifteen (15) Diamonds in all. It is estimated that there is approximately .75ctw in Diamonds in the Brooch (+/-). These antique cuts are so romantic in that they were faceted to catch the dim candlelight of the day. These gems sparkle and glitter unlike any other stone today. The setting is unmistakeably Art Nouveau in design, dating to the late 19th Century circa 1890. From the main brooch dangles the two larger Mine Cut Diamonds, which have a little movement when worn. The setting is composed of PLATINUM with a 14K Rose Gold back, representing some of the finest work of the Era. The pin closes securely with the original early safety barrel clasp. Overall the brooch measures about 1 5/8 inch wide by about 5/8 inch long with the Diamond drops. It is in beautiful estate condition.
