A regal Vintage Amethyst Ring, Antique Wedding Ring in 14K Gold Filigree, Victorian to early Art Deco Period, circa 1900. This ring has such grace and elegance and is quite unusual in its design. The center of the ring holds a stunning faceted deep rich African Amethyst gemstone measuring about 5x7mm oval. It is beautifully set in the most wonderful antique setting composed of solid 14K yellow Gold with Filigree openwork. The setting allows for light to enter in through the setting thus illuminating the stone from all directions. The setting allows the gemstone to sit up just enough to be noticed but not so much as to be uncomfortable. Overall the ring measures about 1/4 inch long by about 3/4 inch wide and is in lovely estate condition. To my trained eye it appears that the shank has been redone over the years so it is nice and sturdy, ready for many years of enjoyment.
